What to Expect

Designed to give you a brief introduction to otters and their ecology, our one hour walks are suitable for all ages and can be tailored to meet the needs of your group. We'll take a walk out along a coastal or river site and look out for otter field signs and other wildlife along the way. You'll have the chance to find out more about the area, its otters and much more about otter ecology, behaviour and conservation along the way, and we'll do our best to answer all of your burning questions.

We vary our sites per session to limit potential for disturbance and ensure we're being sensitive to the landscapes we work across. All of the sites selected have regular otter activity, giving you an excellent opportunity to see a variety of field signs. While we always keep an eye out, our ecology walks are not designed to be otter watching events and so please do not be disappointed if we don't see any otters. We are exploring options for Fife-based otter watch events in the future, so do check back for further updates if this is of interest to you.

We will be walking for a short distance, and stopping regularly. Our short otter ecology walks can take place at sites which may be more suitable for those with limited mobility than our extended walks, though we will always do our best wherever possible to cater to your group's specific needs.
