Otter Walks & Workshops
Have you ever wanted to get the chance to watch an otter in the wild? Or find out how to find signs of otters out on the coast or along a river?
If so, we might have something that may just interest you!
We have a selection of otter ecology walks and otter watching workshops available to book at the moment, with more to come in the future, so if you don't see quite what you're looking for here, do keep an eye on our social media pages for future announcements.
Most of our shorter activities take place across our home county of Fife in East Scotland, and from April 2026 we are excited to be launching two-day otter watching workshops (with a difference!) on the stunning Isle of Tiree in the Inner Hebrides. For more information on what each activity involves, see below.

Otter Ecology Walks (Short)
Duration: One Hour
Designed to give you a brief introduction to otters and their ecology, our one hour walks are suitable for all ages and can be tailored to meet the needs of your group. We'll take a walk out along a coastal or river site and look out for otter field signs and other wildlife along the way. You'll have the chance to find out more about the area, its otters and much more about otter ecology, behaviour and conservation along the way, and we'll do our best to answer all of your burning questions.

Otter Ecology Walks (Extended)
Duration: 2-3 Hours
Like our one-hour walks, but longer, with more content, and with the addition of refreshments at a local independent cafe or restaurant! We'll look out for otter field signs, collect some data such as footprint measurements to help us learn more about the local otter population, and discuss otter ecology, biology, behaviour and conservation, as well as how it all fits into conservation in the local area. We have a number of sites for our ecology walks which we rotate to limit disturbance to the local otter population and the local area, while benefiting various community based businesses. Suitable for all ages.

Experience Tiree & Otter Watching Workshops
Duration: 2 Days
Set on the beautiful Isle of Tiree, our two-day otter watching workshops are our pride and joy! You'll get to experience Tiree and opportunities to watch otters along the island's quiet south-west coastline, learn how to survey coastal otters, take part in conservation activities with Tiree Ranger Service, have lunch and dinner at the local cafe and restaurant and enjoy an otter-themed creative activity at Tiree Makery! And alongside the memories you'll come away with, we'll have a goody bag for you as well! It's otter watching with a difference, giving you an opportunity to experience Tiree and support its community businesses, while also giving back to the areas we've spent time in. Suitable for ages 16 and above. April 2026 dates available now!
